About the Committee

The City of Knoxville’s Public Arts Committee was created to integrate the arts into the public landscape, bringing a sense of joy, character, and place to the city.

The Committee’s first major project is the redesign of the park at the corner of Gay Street and Summit Hill, which is currently under development.

The committee is also working to develop a mural program and other arts-centered activities for the enjoyment of the city’s residents and visitors.
